Not taking things personally is one of the harder things in life.
Here’s some valuable advice on how to actually do this:

The human body has two operating systems: thinking and feeling. You constantly use them, to different extents. It’s exactly this particular extent – which system, what exact part of it, which duration, when exactly – that determines your perception of life, along with your reactions to the interactions in your life.
Not everyone uses these operating systems in the same way. That’s why every person experiences reality in his/her specific way.

For example: a person predominantly using the left brain hemisphere, or just a part of it, cannot be blamed for being heartless (eg. when it comes to how he treats his pets: not being empathetic towards the needs of, and respectful of the capacities of, the animal).

“How come?’’ you may ask. It’s because the ability to empathize is located only in the right side of the brain. Therefore, a predominantly left-brained person simply cannot imagine himself in the situation of his pet. That’s why it’s definitely not deliberate that he/she treats the animal in such a functional way.

Or take the example of someone who finds it hard to communicate properly; this person just cannot put words on his emotions and how he feels about a given situation. This person’s partner might get frustrated about it and start to feel excluded. In this case, only the right brain side is utilized – or a part of it – when trying to put words to emotions. Ofcourse this person then doesn’t succeed, since speech ability is located in the left brain side. So it’s definitely not a deliberate act – this person also doesn’t want to exclude you. Don’t take it personally!

This can even be applied to how people treat their bodies. Also this is caused by the way, extent and duration the body’s operating systems are being activated. A left-brained person for example is less connected to his body, and will typically eat meat and have exuberant meals. Whereas people who also include the right side of the brain, will more often have healthier eating habits – leaning towards vegetarianism (or just being vegetarians).

People using very limited portions of their brain, and almost completely ignoring the feeling system, are most probably lovers of junk food. They don’t see the destructive results their food choices entail: their consciousness is completely not preoccupied with what’s actually inside the food they are eating.
People who activate both brain hemispheres – simultaneously and equally – and also utilize their feeling system, will be more inclined to have a balanced, healthy, and lovingly assertive lifestyle.

What to do about this all? You can learn how to optimize and intensify the use of both brain sides. This allows you to be more connected to your body, as well as your environment. And then you can learn how you can activate all other capacities of your body when you need them. Come to our centre to find out how you can optimally use your body – from the inside out.
