WEEKLY WISDOM
27/08/2015 | By Lucia Vezo |
When you seek approval from others, you actually haven’t approved of yourself yet.
It doesn’t matter what you do in life, the choices you make, who you are, the things you create, or the way your body looks. As long as you don’t approve of everything you are, have and do – when you keep feeling doubtful, guilty and rejectful about it, and/or not believing and mistrusting it – your outside world will do exactly the same. It doesn’t matter how hard you try to get approval, it will cost you loads of energy and effort – and in most cases you won’t succeed. Only the people who see in you what you cannot see in yourself yet, can preceed you in this. They can only show you, what only you can do for yourself.
Then what’s the next step? Make peace with the life you lead, the body you have,… This means: not projecting any unpleasant emotions onto it, and doing the exact opposite. Give praise to yourself, be proud of who you are and the things you do. Say it out loud – so that everyone can hear your power, trust and faith. But do make sure it really is your truth that you’re speaking.
It is socially acceptable to bring yourself down, while it is generally not accepted yet to validate yourself, and especially not out loud. When you do so, be mindful to not do this out of the emotion of superiority. Because then you put yourself above others, and they will most certainly try to bring you down.
Just dare to share your pleasant emotions with your body, your talents, convictions and ideas – and feel the feeling of happiness in your own system.
Love,
